If you like Mawgan Porth, this is the place to stay if you can get in as it is very popular and people return year after year which is not hard to understand as they have a great location within easy reach of everything.
Beach is dog friendly and kept very tidy. Cannot comment on child friendliness, as we do not have any with us. Excellent place to stay 5 minutes from the beach and the Merrymoor Inn which have an extensive food range.

We have been visiting here for about 10 years and it only gets better each year, the new, since 2013(?) larger pitches are superb, with water and waste adjacent. The showers are spotless and the addition of a laundry makes this a real home away from home. Don't think there is a a better site anywhere in the UK, the fact that the beach is only a very short stroll away just adds to the perfection.

Just back from 4 brilliant days at Magic Cove. We had 3 pitches 2 tents and a camper van, awful rain the first night I thought the ground was going to be waterlogged. Pitches all on well drained sandy soil making camping so much easier. Toilets and showers the cleanest I've come across in all my years of camping. Spotless whatever time of day or night you used them. Plenty of hot water for showers and dish washing, washing up liquid was even provided. Site owners take grate pride in their camp site and this rubs of on their guests. I didn't see anybody not leaving the facilities as they had found them. Magic Cove perfect for a relaxing holiday away from all the stresses of work/everyday life. We took our dogs with us it was really handy having the walking area behind the site for first thing in the morning and late at night. Mawgan Porth beach is lovely, we enjoyed some amazing sunsets. The pub was nice and dog friendly also only a 2 min walk. The Farm shop at the top of the hill sales yummy produce, we bought sausages, minted lamb burgers, quiches & carrot cake all were delicious. Newquays about a 15min drive away if you want a busier seaside town with all the usual stuff, co op & aldi. We can't wait to return to Magic Cove, it's a lovely camp site.

What a great site and location. We knew of Mawgan Porth from previous numerous Cornwall visits but this little gem is situated perfectly for beach (fabulous), shop, pub, fish n chip shop, tennis and mini golf all within walking distance.
Site is as described below, very compact, level, spacious pitches in new layout and a water / EHU / TV / drain point on every pitch (some will require longer hoses than others please be warned). Free wifi on site very quick and easily accessible (other sites take note!)
Toilets and shower (20p for 3. 5 minutes and you can stop start) and washing facilities all top notch and spotlessly clean and modern. All for very reasonable price we felt.
Very popular (especially high season) with lots of long returning visitors and we can see why!

"Well it has all been said before, but this site is about as good as it gets,
Just spent a week there and the standard of the showers and toilets is 10 out of 10. The pitches are level and well drained.
The site is 5 mins from the most beautiful beach. The village of Mawgan Porth has fish and chip shop mini supermarket, Pub and shop selling all your beach requirements.
We have stayed here before and will stay again in the future. The owners of the site are very friendly and helpful and are there to help. Well done Magic Cove"
"Just a short thank you for the part you and your friendly site played in making our recent holiday so enjoyable. Looking forward to next year already."

"We've spent the first two weeks of July here for the last few years with our daughter and grandaughter plus dogs. It is our favourite place to holiday. You couldn't get a warmer welcome than you do from Lesley and Brian. Nothing is too much trouble. Small and friendly beautifully kept, level, well lit at night, grass is cut regularly and the toilets and showers are kept spotless at all times."
Mr & Mrs Potter, 2008
"Lesley and Brian were on hand everyday whenever needed and the other campers were a friendly bunch too! I'd already emailed Lesley several times about a few things and always got a prompt and helpful reply. It's a fairly sheltered site, level and with excellent toilet/washing facilities."

"I was impressed last year and was not let down, a great campsite and very friendly, toilets and showers are clean and well maintained, 5 minute walk and you have the shop, pub, restaurant, chippy and, surf school and a great beach that allows dogs and has lifeguards. We are already looking at dates to book next year. Highly recommended."
"Magic Cove is situated a few minutes walk from a beautiful beach, nice pubs, shop, restaurant and fish and chip shop! What more could you want!
The family who run this campsite take real pride in the service they provide and couldn't do enough for us, they could definitely teach some of the bigger parks a thing or two! I will definitely return to Magic Cove, what a great find!"
"This is a smashing little site. We stayed for a week in August and left for a more prestigious site in north Devon and have been regretting it ever since.
Magic Cove is small but very friendly site and we booked for 2007 before we left.
The site is only a few hundred metres from the beach and is therefore excellent for families with young children.
The village has a couple of pubs that do food and a takeaway.
The toilet blocks were cleaned thoroughly by the owners each day were spotless.
I would recommend this site to anyone."

"I so agree with everything that has already been said, absolutely brilliant site. Nothing was too much trouble, so very pleasant and friendly campsite owner. Who had a star quality I have never seen before in all my years camping.she actually seemed to "enjoy her job immensely"! I am not suprised it gets booked up so quickly, it is too far for us to get there easily, otherwise we would have been going back again and again and again. CONGRATULATIONS your site is FIRST CLASS**********
"We loved this little site. It took a lot of searching to find somewhere near Newquay which fulfilled our simple requirements of being within walking distance of a beach and having no "family entertainments". The Magic Cove was perfect with it's immaculate washrooms and mown pitches. It was peaceful and friendly and we spent a lot of time relaxing outside our tent. Watching the rabbits in the evening and the early morning was a pleasure."
"So good I don't want to tell you about it! Booked for next summer hols before we left, and I think we got the last pitch too! Lovely, no-
Mr & Mrs Wood 2005
"This is a lovely small campsite 300 yards from the surfing beach of Mawgan Porth. Very sheltered level site -

"We found Magic Cove by accident when drinking in a pub nearby, and have been going for 9 years now.
A lovely small friendly sheltered site, which Stan the magician recently passed on to his daughter Lesley.
It is small, so if you have 28ft Caravan/Awning, or a tent the size of a small county, then go elsewhere, but if you prefer your sites small friendly and run the old fashioned way (in the best meaning of the phrase) then go to Magic Cove.
There is no club, no facilities beyond v.clean toilets/showers, water, and hook up, but everything you need is 5 minutes walk away by the beach and seafront."
Martin & Joanne 2004
"My parents have been visiting this site yearly since I was a teenager and absolutely love it. I now have two children of my own and my husband and I have been a couple of times. We are going again in May 2004 and cant wait. The site is very basic...just what we want. A local butcher does deliver with excellent quality produce for the all essential bbq! The beach is superb, the scenery breathtaking and the facilities around the beach (shop, pub etc) are all you need. A fantastic place to escape too and chill out!"
